Obviously getting local is best and ideally BYC is second choice, but has anyone gotten decent eggs from ebay? The prices there are *SO* much cheaper that it almost seems worth trying just to see what happens.

i just bought a batch of 45 coturnix eggs off ebay. i set them 2 days ago will let you know how hatch turns out. i had 6 eggs that had small cracks so i sealed them with wax and set them with the rest. 14 days to go.

I have bought a couple of sets of eggs off of Ebay. Had real good luck. You have to really look for the folks that look reliable and have good ratings. I figure if they can't spell coturnix then they might not be such a good source for quality eggs.

I just bought 120 off eBay I got them in in three days with only 4 broken. I did not think that was bad at all. Mine are not set to hatch until the 24th but I will keep you posted. Mine all are NPIP tested from a Quail farm in Georgia, came with all the paper work showing certification I was really impressed... now lets see the hatch rate....

I had bought some A&M eggs off ebay last fall. Out of 18 eggs, only 6 developed and 2 hatched. The seller sent me some replacement eggs, I believe it was 13 that time. None of them even developed. Let's just say you get what you pay for. Many of us here sell on ebay as well though, so you could get lucky

I have had good luck with one seller on ebay and a bunch of bad luck off from ebay that was before i found this place best one i had was last may i bought 250 bobwhite eggs he sent 263 and i hatched 228 out of those that is not the norm though as i have bought many eggs and few hatches

I bought some button quail eggs on ebay. The seller was very helpful and sent a care packet of information to go along with them. The auction was for 25 eggs and he sent 50. I hatched about 10-15 out of the 50 and now their eggs are in my bator right now. I guess it's all who you buy from.

it would all depend on the eggs and shipping. Our first quail were a gift from a friend on the west coast. They shipped mid week and forgot it was a holiday weekend and we didn't get the eggs until Tuesday of the following week. I didn't expect anything from them but we got 20 or so to hatch from about 50 eggs sent. We have been in the quail "business" ever since.

I've had a 75%+ hatch from 120 ebay eggs mailed all the way across the country. I'm sure you've already been doing this but just check feedback, a lot of people will update with their hatch percentages, also at the very least you can see if people are receiving their eggs in good condition.
I also don't buy from anyone who can't spell what they're selling, espcially if it's not even close

I saw "quartunix" chicks for sale on CL recently.
