Ebay seller took image off my poultry clubs website

Quote:
That would be best, because you never know how far the ebay seller is going to make it look like he is associated with your poultry club.

Yeah, except eBay takes forever and a day to do anything for the "little man" sellers. By the time they got to it, the auction probably would have been over.

I really like the "hot link" to porn thing...What exactly is the URL that it linked too? (purely for research reasons, of course......)

I had that happen to me once. I notified the seller that it was my COPYRIGHTED photo they were using -- yep, had my copyright and all on it -- and they had 24 hrs. to take it down before I reported them to eBay. It came down overnight. A week later, they had obviously relisted and used my photo again. I reported them to eBay that time. I haven't check lately to see what else may be being used.

I like the feature of disabling the right click on my site, so far it's worked well. I'm sure someone could probably get around it by looking at the source code and viewing the html address and linking to it, but it cuts out those that just want to right click and save my pictures.
I think I'll start tinkering with the watermarks though too.

From a long time and avid Ebay buyer and seller, I'd just like to say THANK YOU Urban Coyote for going the extra mile to shut these frauds down! Especially in the dignified manner that you did. I've been ripped off a time or two by two-faced sellers and it's not fun. Nice work!

Actually, there is an extremely easy way to get around the 'right click' tool. You simply do a 'screen capture'. It a button on your computer that will take an exact impression of your computer screen. Then all you have to do is paste that image into an image editing piece of software, do a little cropping work and viola! your now have a copy of that picture. Mind you, I'm not sure if your backyard variety image pirate will know this, but it's easy as pie for anyone who has even a tiny level of image editing knowledge.

Hmmm.....seems like the people who took my image have a new image on their auction. I wonder if it's pirated as well?
