I drove to San Antonio, to be able to see the "ring of fire". Pretty thick cloud cover but had a few breaks ....got some pics but didn't have a filter for my camera...but got to see it with glasses.

I'm ready for the full eclipse, April 8, 2024. Camera filters, an App for using the filters from Totality Over Texas, both for SLR and Galaxy phone, more glasses, tripod, and reservations at a B&B in Kerrville...had reservations since March 2021.

I put my glasses over my phone's camera to get the pictures I took.
It worked but was difficult holding them still.
I should have taped them on to the phone.

One of the guests for my Godson's memorial brought a couple of phone camera lenses. I have a bunch of the glasses now.

yeah, I tried my welding goggles but they didn't work with my phone, couldn't get any kind of a focus ....so I just turned it on selfie mode and took pics that way...didn't hurt my phone camera either, like some experts were saying it could melt the lenses! :lau but now I've got a bunch of glasses and several filters for both my phone and my digital SLR camera.
Been practicing take pics of the sun with the app, it definitely has a learning curve...here's some pics of the sun through the filter and app! Having a hard time enlarging the frame and trying to get it in focus but I'll get there eventually.

I found that holding the glasses about a half an inch away from my phone camera worked good.
When I put the glasses right up against the camera, the pictures were caca.
