EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The geese are doing well. I still haven't let them out to free range yet cause they aren't quite settled in completely.

Caprine Arthritis and Encephalitis (CAE), Tuberculosis (TB), Johne’s, Brucellosis & Caseous Lymphoma (CL). They all can be done with the same blood sample except for TB.

thats whats in my goat notes!
I don't do TB, as Ohio is considered TB free, not certain about PA.

@Honora What have you ordered?

Sweets, best thing to do is work with the seller and only ship when its not extremely cold enroute in that time frame. It can be done, Weather permitting and with double boxing and heat packs in the outer box. likewise in the summer with cold ice bricks

I have ordered a mix of chocolate, chocolate cuckoo and chocolate mottled orps. I love chocolate. :-) After these chicks come in the Spring though, I'll have to get a cage and start breaking the broodies. I am planning to move out of the country in 2018, so I am going to have to start getting rid of chickens instead of buying more!

This is what I've been looking at for the last few weeks

At the far side of the mowed area is the feeder, 38 yds away

Panning to the left, this is straight ahead. The open field is on the adjoining property

This is the view to my left.

Altogether, this is what I can see from a single position in the blind. I can move to either end & see more, but these are the most active areas. Not a bad setup, even though it's small. We've taken a lot of deer off this place over the years.

Nice spot. Too bad you and son didn't get one.
