EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

If they could handle 30-40f below, I might have to get one,  The WWD would not be happy with me, but what a conversation piece it would be.

Yea that's what I thought when I got mine. However she is showing more interest in chickens now because her friends want some of the NN. It's all they've been talking about. Never mind the rare ones it's all NN talk.

i think so too, if i ever get into meat birds i will be trying to incorporate the Na gene, and pea comb

Had I to do it over instead of using rainbows which have the single comb, I would have used Chanticler for the cushion comb, BUT I am not going to go back 5 years and start over. I might try a new line of toads off the existing ones to get the cushion comb into them though.

Beings I have no illusions of an SOP it is just to make myself and others like me a sustainable meat bird. Which is another reason I want more people to have the toads. SO we can get the best landrace meat bird possible..

Kind of overly ambitious on my part, I know..

Kristin, spiders are NOT good luck in any way, shape, or form.... And I can kill bugs with my electric zapper.
(I'm joking, Benny, I know spiders are important)

Actually, you could be right, one of the things I have lost from the CX's is the light feathering. The toads have a full normal chickens feathers.   They still pluck easy when scalded properly but have way more feathers than the CX did.

Had thought about them here but when you mentioned they don't do to well in heat I nixed the idea. Plus I have far too many chickens here to start something new.

@DwayneNLiz taking hydrocodone. Went in same day as sally for a procedure. They neglected to do a tubal on the wife when the twins were born so we decided since she had already had 3 c-sections i would go under the knife for once. I dont recall ever taking any meds stronger than tylenol. Yeah its got me a bit loopy.

Yikes. :( I wonder why they didn't do the tubal when they were in there??? :/ would have made it easier on everyone.
