Thanks. I still got a pretty good hatch though, six out of seven fertile duck eggs and eight out of eleven guinea eggs, two quit, nine went into lockdiwn and eight hatched.

@DwayneNLiz I am keeping the reds and two.
The one doe made me question, but the other doe is totally asymptomatic.

I am so happy today!


I have finally made my error of the decade. I am glad to get it out of the way relatively early in the decade.

I candled my eggs last night. When I was candling them I set some eggs on the shelf below the top tray in the hatchers. I use metal trays to stop the poop from the top tray from landing on the bottom tray birds.


This picture I posted last night shows it..




When I went down to check on them and refresh their water, I had chick on the bottom/floor of the hatcher. He came from one of those eggs you see there.

Oops. He is so lucky I did not take them out last night and throw them...


So my mistake is a doozy, it is a compound mistake. I assume that means my next error is not due until 2030.
