It could be like the worm that is actually a deer worm that goats can get off wet grass at a stage in its life cycle where it is outside the deer.

I was quite surprised when I looked in my Veterinary Parasitology Reference Manual... Seems like goats, sheep, cattle, dogs and cats can get many types of worms from many sources, and some of those people can get from them!

When I was a kid my mom wouldn't let us play outside barefooted because she said we'd get worms from the cats.
 
@BantyChooks I need help - my little chick who's last in the incubator is running all over th eplace, dragging her egg shell with her. She' fluffing up, but the umbilical is still firmly attached to the egg. I took some pictures, but i'm not sure how to safely detach it? She's up and moving and apparently ready to be away from her egg now.

She was right! Hookworms that transmitted from cats and dogs infect like that!
