Banti, just think of it as our version of deep winter - brown grass and greenery, and spending as little time outside as possible... :D

Yeah, but cold you can dress up to ward off so you don't actually have to avoid outside all that much.... For heat, there's only so much you can remove before it becomes illegal.

I'm scared spitless when it comes to fire season. Snakes I can handle fire not so much.

You mean you live in those temps too?

Two people live in that kind of Hades? Really?

Now, off the ridiculously high temps you live in... I have a medical type question maybe on of you can answer..

Lets say some one tried to take a blood sample from a victim. The victim happens to be a Royal Palm hen with very fine veins and the idiot taking the blood used too big of a needle. How long do you think it would be before another attempt is made?

Also lets say just for sake of argument, this idiot blew the veins in both wings and not just one?

The fire season part makes me doubly sure your last brain cell has fled.

You so seldom speak true words of wisdom, but like the blind squirrel stumbling on an acorn, you hit it right on the head this time!

I hate to agree with you, but I have no choice but too.

:yesss: I'm framing this.

What are nighttime lows down in Hades on earth? Bet it doesn't even go below 60....

:idunno
Same needle twice. Strange. Sounds like they need to practice on themselves a little more.

Quote: Actually, once it gets above about 100F, you have to start going the other direction again - you cover up to keep the "cool" body temperature in (as well as warding off sun exposure) - light weight, but long pants, long sleeved shirts, hat, and sometimes gloves to protect the hands from sun. There's a reason folks who live in the deserts like the sahara dress that way. I used to live in Atlanta, and THOUGHT I knew what hot was.

No clue.

Quote: I run misters, which the birds appreciate (though they're ok without them). I don't raise birds who can't handle the heat, and if they demonstrate that they can't, they go to freezer camp. But yeah, there's a reason for siesta. Up as early as possible, because it may be over 95F at midnight still, so morning is the only time you can get stuff done...
