EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Hey, mushroom people - I found these on the edge of my aged compost pile. Oyster? (They look like them to me...) They are about the size of the palm of my hand.

Might hve too much stalk for oysters. The underside is the ain thing we need to see to be 43% sure of what it is. The other 57% is living dangerously for excitement,,besides you would be eating them not us....

I gave my kids the best job ever. Gave them hammers and told them to go destroy a wooden platform, because it's where I want to stick the new garden. Just need to get top soil and build a slightly elevated bed

Howdy peeps,

@SallySunshine
Thank you for the links you posted last night about the DIY turners. I had seen a few of those but went back and re-read through the threads. Information overload would be the best description at the current moment but valuable info gathered. Also the house pics you posted were amazing. I have those ideas and abilities but seem to struggle completing said projects in a timely manner.

@ChickenCanoe
Based on previous comments I recall you being familiar with robotics and automation? I'm leaning towards a linear actuator for my DIY turner. I know little about them but based on what I have learned it seems rather possible. One of the things I'm struggling with is the direction of travel. Does simply reversing the polarity reverse the direction of travel or is it more complex than that. I've seen examples utilizing micro switches but seems as though the switches could potentially be eliminated by wiring in two adapters but reversing them from each other.

Any others are welcome to chime in but i just tagged him due to the fact I seem to remember him discussing it previously.

What color will they be.and are they giant cochin out the cochin ben.we got first pick.they are huge.they where unboxing them when we got there

Stuck the two babies that hatched, under my broody - she acted really confused. I took her other eggs and candled them, took the couple that looked alive and put them into the incubator. I want her out of my house, so giving her a few babies and then sticking her in the juvie pen is the best way to do that lol
lol, how long has she been setting?

When's the next candling day? I want to be there to hear you explain all that to a 2nd grader
LOL!!!

Doing pretty good.
How about you?
