The storms are really terrifying sometimes, that's for sure. I'm fortunate to have a sloped area, and I brood all little ones indoors for a longish while, so they are able to get to the "higher ground" of their roost platform in case of flash flooding. Two of the newer tractors have had to be built in the "flood plain" runoff part of the yard, so I'm keeping my eye on it, but at least it never sits, it always runs through. (All the coops are a little damp now, though - it's supposed to rain more today and tomorrow, so I'm waiting, and then I'm swapping out the bedding for a couple of them that are particularly bad. I do deep litter, but would need LOTS of dry stuff to balance that out.

It wasn't even really flooded, persay, just damp and kind of muddy. They just didn't get into their shelter and killed themselves. Only 4-5 of the older birds were smart enough to hide in the shelter. I wish the other birds had followed their lead.
