Another surprise this evening:

Maran went missing about the time I was having a problem with a raccoon. But then, she would show up every now and then, but would just disappear. I have no idea where she was sitting. I believe she has 10 chicks.

I have heard that about the Nettles, but no thank you.

They do taste good as a tea.

Same with mine but I knew where she was, only because I saw her running into the blackberries. All 10 in pic

Thankfully the heat has put an end to the broodies need to make a nest. Except the Marans hen.

Sounds like you're in the same boat. I've 15 new chicks from broodies, with who knows what will hatch in the incubator.

Yep, I currently have 14 chicks from broodies, and 7 Icelandics I hatched. Nothing currently in any incubator.

I have had an empty incubator for nearly a month now.

See, I said I could stop whenever I wanted too, and I did.

So, what if it's only a month.... Let me revel in my amazing self control for a bit.
