EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Does anyone here know how exactly a crayfish ended up in my yard? :hmm It's very much alive, the kids have it in a bucket.

Had much rain lately? If there's a stream or runoff close by, combined with a lot of rain, they can end up most anywhere.

You really think we stay remotely on topic? You must have forgotten the old ways.
Nah, I haven't forgotten. Just though since I'd been away for awhile that perhaps things would settle down and stay on point. I see you've done just fine without me!

Did you hear me laughing too? Man, I need to be quieter when insulting people.
Oh... that was laughter? Sounded more like an evil cackle to me, but my hearing isn't what it used to be, either. :duc

No, not really. There's a stream with crayfish in it on the other side of the house, several hundred feet away, but it's down a slope and most of it is thick forest. Didn't think they were that determined.

Settle down? Settle down? There was about a 2% chance of that at the very greatest.

Yes, you misheard. I'd never cackle.

I can't complain. I've been doing pretty good for me... I'm trying to keep my nose clean and not break too many laws. I've had a lot going on lately with work and the chicken farming. I have 50 RIR chicks to deal with now, along with the older birds, so that takes up a good bit of my "free" time. I tried to link my FB video here, but it said the file couldn't be played, so I deleted the post. I'm uploading to YouTube now and will put the video up as soon as it's done. I know it's not incubating or hatching, but there is a connection since it all started with incubating and hatching. I won't be hatching year-round any more, since purebred reds are more or less a seasonal type of bird. I have to hatch early in order to pick my keepers in late fall/early winter. This is typically the time breeders sell their excess birds. Not saying I'm a true blue breeder, but I'm working on it...
From what I've seen of your efforts before, you certainly seem to be headed in the right direction. Good Luck!
