EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

5 miles, uphill both ways? Me too.
Pah! You were spoiled. I had no school because the nearest igloo with learned people in it was about 10* south. We worked for 26 hours a day and had to get up before we went to bed. I finally learned to read and write at age 29 after walking for three months straight south to a school. I carried two children with me too.

We had 26 hour days here too! :th

:tongue....I was. I carried the boy around as a newborn while I was working in the fields; combining...you name it. He'd move his little foot and switch the powershift on when I was cultivating! :lau Sometimes he'd want to stay with Grandma and help in the garden once he got to toddler stage...but he spent all the combining with me playing with his little toys on a comforter on the floor of the combine. I lambed out 70 ewes a few weeks after he was born. :p

I always said that if I had boys they better know their domestics so they can look after themselves. Always said if I had girls they better know how to change the oil in their vehicle and they better dang well know their tools. And what a Robertson is. :yesss:
It's our job to prepare them for life, isn't it? :p:wee
You've done well by them, and they're certainly better adults for it.
Oh, BTW...what is a Robertson?

The square head screw driver. I don't think you guys use or have them down there? I could be wrong about that.

Oh, yeah, we use them. In fact, I used one yesterday to tighten a bolt on one of my chainsaws. I have several sizes; just never knew the proper name for them....always call them "square bits", as opposed to star, torx, philips, or straight slot.
