Honeybee came early! Went into labor at 4AM yesterday morning and had him out by 1:30PM. He's 41cm and 3.27 kg. No epidural, no pain meds, and I was even able to pull him out myself once the shoulders came out. Progression was way too fast for very many interventions!

That sounds wonderful! It must have been such a rush to get to catch him yourself! He's so precious, enjoy your cuddle time! Congrats to you and hubby!

Collars and horns are a deadly combination. I have witnessed a smaller doe being dragged and strangled awhile back. I stopped using collars. I will use a harness during hoof trimming. But it is removed right after. Goats have a pecking order just like chickens. The alpha nanny is a brute. When my alpha passed away last year, another took her place. She leads the herd and they follow her lead. Alpha's are the worst for collar hooking.
That's one problem I never had, and I had collared goats for years. I think all of Sally's goats are w/o horns, anyway.
