I have access to three sliding glass doors that I was going to incorporate into a coop. Thanks for the ideas. I also use 5 gallon buckets for a heat sink. The buckets also work in summer for cooling. When it’s too hot the chickens will all dig in around the buckets. The barns foundation is just behind the buckets so they are also getting cooler from the cement mass.
Not that we get too cold.

Ingenious. Often, when my birds are running loose, I'll find them resting near the SW wall of the basement, taking advantage of the heat radiating off the concrete.

I’d love to see the quilt. I’ve been hanging onto Harley shirts for years, planning to make a quilt “someday”.

Good morning everyone! Are you all ready for Christmas? I think today is the first day in 2 weeks that I don't have to run like a nut to one place or another for something. Of course it's still going to be a full day. I have to wrap the saxophone that we found for my son (last minute Christmas wish) and make 2 pillows for my dad to go with the quilt mom and I made for him (out of old bicycling/motorcycle t-shirts). Then I have to make the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies this evening. Busy busy!

I am taking pictures of my nieces and nephew every time I see them. I also get shots of my sister doing things with them, and moments of her and her husband. I don't take posed shots, but rather I take life moments. I am going to put them all on fabric and quilt each of them a quilt of their childhood through my "Aunt's" eyes. This will be their eighteenth birthday gift from me.

I'm surprised that fighting cocks is still legal, even in Missouri. Barbaric! That's as bad as fighting Pit Bulls.

I don't know if it is legal to fight or not, but I think it is terrible too.

I believe the rules are such that there needs to be actual proof of cockfighting before law enforcement can do anything. Sometimes they still turn blind eyes to it.

Some people actually still argue cockfighting as humane, they say the bird wants to fight... well, that's because you bred him to be that way, dummy. The Modern Games now have been bred away from fighting instincts and still look as grand as ever. IMHO the same should be done with the American Game.
