EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Home schooling is much different than you imagine. From what I have seen there is lots of networking between people that home school. Plenty of social interaction opportunities. They plan educational outings with other home schoolers. The small classroom size equates to individual attention. If the student becomes particularly interested in a subject, there is an opportunity to delve deeper into it.
I should just :duc

This is so true - almost all of our friends are homeschoolers. We have a few who have kids who go to public school, but the older ones past like 3rd grade, have so much homework, they can't even play in the afternoons before dinner. (or after once it gets dark.) My daughter spends more time with people doing non-school stuff, then those poor kids get too.

She also had time to spend a year training her green pony, and then get into the dog thing with her dad. (And spend time with her chickens. She spends hours a day handling full size geese, 35+lbs tom turkeys, and her roosters.) We don't have any mean roosters, our toddlers can hug our full-size male birds and they at least tolerate it LOL

I don't think our birds would be as nice if they didn't get hours a day of social interaction with our kids, too. LOL

I think there's a lot of misconceptions about homeschooling. :/ Many of the people I know who are homeschooling, their mom is a retired school teacher or has a college education. I'm actually probably one of the stupidest amongst the homeschooling families and co-op's we've been too, I only have some college under my belt.

Good morning everyone! :frow

I don't ask for much, but it would be really nice if the outside waters weren't frozen solid on the fourth or fifth day of spring.

So, I shouldn't talk about the 85 degree weather we've had all week in Texas? You should move to Texas... Fire and I are both here, too. Another incentive. *winks*

@Pensmaster I have a splinter from just touching a board.
I did put gloves on to fix the duck house. I definitely kept them on to move the ducks! Muscovies are dangerous!! She broke my nail halfway down, and I couldn’t let go of her head for a second! She wanted to eat my face!
Once the ducks realized they were in their pen, and the pool was full, they went crazy with excitement. I wish I could have taken a video, but doing chores isn’t the time for carrying a cellphone. Especially when you have to wrestle critters!
One rooster is still loose. I will probably catch him later.

Afternoon everyone. Today is looking up to be an abysmal hatch day. :( Only one birchen hatched during the night, and I'm not seeing any others even pipped. No CCLs pipped, no OEs, no BCL. Today is day 21. Using four different incubators, one was an auto-turner the rest were by hand. Feeling in the dumps. I've got over 100 eggs with only 15 of our own custom EE's to show for.:(

Awe. Come on chicks. I’ve finally got the hatching incubator up to speed. I hope. Lock down tomorrow night
