Sounds like itI think that was the one that took forever pipping. It hatched sometime in the night.
Every one I've held so far has white on it somewhere; one even has a white belly. Kind of surprising considering BCM hens are solid black, Roosters don't show white, and black is usually dominant (at least in dogs it is) Far as I know, BCM aren't sexable at birth, so what's with the white?![]()
A lot of people refer to BCM chicks as "penguins". Bits of white down is very normal on them, even the entire belly. It's when the white persists into the adult plumage that is considered a fault and a problem.

my one day milk test starts tonight wish me luck especially with my Copper Hill doe that they let get mastitis last year. She's giving me about a gallon a day or a little over out of half an udder she's going to be so close. Hopefully her butterfat is good enough to push her over the edge. Since she's out of a 9 star milker it would be a total shame to have that all lost. It's such an inexpensive thing really in reality that it's a shame people don't do some of that stuff, but I had to get her paperwork all fixed because somebody didn't want to pay that $4 to transfer her mom.
