EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Good morning Mike. The next storm in might be a warm one. If so the snow pack may become a flood for the valley. And we’d lose the benefit of water in summer. We are expecting 2-4 inches of rain with this one with more in the mountains.

That's a lot of rain. I'm not certain how much rain we received here, but the lake info say .67 inches in last 24 hours.

We were supposed to have nine inches already. I have about... four? Of course there’s drifting too.

Babies are gonna be born this evening, and continue into the wee hours of the morning.
I am aware of driving conditions. I’m trying to rustle up someone to plow my drive. If nothing else, I will hike out to the road. If/when you know what you’re putting them in, tell me if it’s not a cardboard box. I’ll be sure to have a container to swap with you or switch them to.

I had to take my oldest cat to the vet a few weeks ago because she stopped eating and dropped a bunch of weight. She's pretty much skin and bones. The vet told me that the muscles in her jaw were getting weak and that's why she stopped eating her dry food. She's on wet food now. I just got off the phone with the vet (giving him regular updates on how she's eating and drinking) and this man told me it's great to hear that she's trying to tear up the bathroom counter (she has taken up residence and refuses to leave). It's inconvenient, but at least I know she's gaining strength even if she still looks and feels boney. She just turned 12 and I was afraid I would have to put her down.

She's not done fighting yet. No pics because I can't find any old ones right now and she still looks awful.

Yeah, we have 3-4 here now too. I'm not too much worried about the driveway. It's pretty flat and my AWD can plow through that. It's the curvy back roads and hills that worry me lol. And I ALWAYS put them in a cardboard box :)

Good morning! :frow

It's raining, it rained all night, the snow is gone, it's a muddy mess out there.
We've had some form of precipitation well over half of the days over the last couple months. We've had rain, freezing rain and snow for the last 4 days straight. Poor birds looking for dust baths. Two groups can get under their buildings for some dry dust. None of the rest can.
Thank you. I was so grateful they all were in last night. :fl
I must say this breed of chickens are the most tame I’ve raised. Down side I’ve had mixed reviews on their abilities to handle heat. Test yet to come.
What breed is that? This is the wildest breed I've ever raised.
