EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

colostrum is what it needs more than anything he's first 12 to 24 hours it's crucial if he's not getting enough of that he definitely won't make it. I usually give the gold first and then claw strict second but if you don't have access to the gold ahead of time closter x is available at most tractor supply type stores
my vet raises goats and has her whole life and she uses the gold first and then clostryx

They all got colostrum yesterday, I made sure. All were fine when I went to bed, and fine at 6:30 this morning. He was one of the most vigorous yesterday, but also the smallest. He was still standing at 11 but has gone down quickly since the. I have lactated ringers and milk mix on the way. If he can hang on through the next few hours I think he’ll make it.

How is he? :fl

Not great. So in the rundown of treatments:

Nutridrench (one squirt)
Cmpk (1/4 inch)
.5cc b inj.
Karo syrup on gums
Karo syrup + water (18mls)
Milked out Gertrude (12mls)

Lactated ringers (30cc in each side)
Lactated ringers again
9mls milk

Tubed 35mls of electrolytes/Karo/coffee

Multiple temp checks. Kept in “recovery” position.

Now we wait. I’m at the dining hall for supper. Sally said in 1.5 hours feed again, either tube or bottle.
