EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

As happens in farm life, I’m about to lose #4. I found him weak and hunched over. I gave a shot of b, drench, cmpk, two syringes of milk, and three of Karo water. He’s absolutely limp.

And it’s hot. They’re all panting. I have them all drench and a syringe of Karo water. I need bottles and supplies to supplement them, but I need to stay near #4. He’s my son’s favorite. :(

I have never had a floppy kid but is that what he's like a floppy kid syndrome?

Based on the Fiascofarms article it’s weak kid, not floppy kid. Weak kids are usually starving. Floppy kids have overfed on milk and it has become toxic. I’m sure the two biggest bucks are beating him and the doe for food, but she’s in better shape. I’m going to be milking Gertrude and making the milk mix to supplement them all.

it's a little early for floppy kid but I would suggest you get them cooled off I bet they're just too hot and not hydrated enough

colostrum is what it needs more than anything he's first 12 to 24 hours it's crucial if he's not getting enough of that he definitely won't make it. I usually give the gold first and then claw strict second but if you don't have access to the gold ahead of time closter x is available at most tractor supply type stores
my vet raises goats and has her whole life and she uses the gold first and then clostryx
