Actually Beekissed started that Front Porch thread - I just joined in. But yep, the bucket is still around. There's usually a turtle under it but somehow we all got confused about who has custody of him at the moment.

I've butchered Leghorns, Buttercups, Polish and other egg breeds.Yea all of mine have been DP birds. Smoking ribs over top of a bird would be delicious
If a raccoon can find meat on them, so can I.
I'm going to separate the cockerels from the pullets tonight. I did that over a week ago but they figured out the latch between the two sides.
Right now they're all free ranging together but I want to start confining the boys to a small pen and giving short days for foraging to limit the amount of exercise they're getting.

How often do you guys/does anyone process extra pullets?
Never. If I have pullets that aren't going to be used for breeding. I either sell them or they go into the egg flock. Sometimes they surprise me and can work their way into the breeding program.

What types of marinade?
I haven't done any extra pullets before.
I'll have to ask the cook and get back to you on that one.
