I got some tubs from walmart, I plan on cutting and turning into duck houses. Easy to clean, plastic so not easily rotted or destroyed. And cheap!!! less than 5 dollars per bin.

I don't mind wood - but it's so much harder to clean than plastic. ^.^

Old whiskey barrels cut in half would make decent shelter, and have insulative properties that plastic doesn't, and they're light enough that they can be tipped up & hosed out, Only downsides that come to mind are they cost a bit more, and the steel bands need to be screwed down so they don't loosen as the wood shrinks. On the other hand, UV doesn't affect them like it does plastic.
