30-40 from the 75% or the 100%?
From the 100%. I am also working with newer birds too and determining fertility. so I guess 30-40% isn't bad

It's been a long day. Bill has yet to be to sleep from working midnights. He took the whole day to clean my coops and help with the garage and cages

i cant wait until my stores have chicks!!

All of the old buildings around here are built from limestone blocks like this - makes sense, it's found about 6" from the surface in many places... My house has stone around the inner framing. When I remodel, I'm going to refresh it, and thicken it. Keeps the house cooler in summer, warmer in winter. So, my house is sorta like the Alamo.

I know I'm excited.but worried with humidity.I filled two troughs the first 18 days and then today filled them all and wasn't gonna open till day 22/23 .but there is condensation on vewing windows
it may be too high if its on the viewing window

And now there's seven!!

Oh, blessed warmth!
Congrats!!

I gots a guinea!!!!
at least theyre cute when they hatch

I have 2 chicks that hatched in January and I'm pretty sure they're both boys.
10 chicks that hatched ranging from 1 to 2 weeks ago.
The 2 older ones are going into the coop today. I may even move the littles out today or tomorrow if I get it set up right.
I have 45 eggs due to hatch on the 28th. I need more space but I hope to sell a bunch of those.
I decommissioned a building that proved vulnerable to mink and then raccoons chewed their way into one of the pop doors. I'm trying to redesign it because I really need it as a grow out coop.
good luck!!!

I know I am suppose to say only nice things here....

BUT that is one of the ugliest birds I have ever seen.:lau

I do however see the resemblance between it and Kahn,  and I mean before he became Mr.  Roarke.

I would be afraid to show that bird to my grandkids. They would have nightmares for weeks.

Less feathers to process, more protein for meat instead of feathers, better in heat. Win win to me. Feathers are over rated.

That I Might agree. but pure looks,.......

I was wondering how they would do up here. I bet the cold would be too much for them. They would be so unique and sure to win the best of breed at the shows as they would be the only ones there.

Not at all! They were originated in Transylvania Romania believe me the winters there aren't a picnic.
