how about now?

Acoorcding to 5sons biological clock....kids and coffe is gone. Time to check on chicks, peep in on incubator. Give chickens slop, get there eggs. Water chickens, turkeys and quail. Pick 3 5 gallon buckets of left over cob corn out of the field. Then feed everyone crumble after there full of slop and corn. Then start a second pot of Java and cook myself a couple eggs and venison bacon.

@kajira, the problem with the Brinsea mini eco is the fact that to access the water pot you have to lift the canopy. There is a little slotted cover that goes on the water pot. I'm thinking maybe I can run a length of small gauge of tubing down the little turret that would normally hold the turner motor and into one of the slots in the cover, then find some way to secure the tubing to the inside of the canopy.. I could inject water into the reservoir then using a bulb syringe or a regular syringe witht he needle off.

Quote: Icelandic Sheep dog.

Today someone delivered 52 eggs for me to hatch for them.

They are weird asian birds - O' Shamo and the like.

Guess they will go into the bator tonight.

The only problem, I'd never be able to set all their eggs. Hmmmmm

Today's eggs.
Sweet, you can figure out how to set all the eggs!

Good morning everyone. I have the day off.

I hope you enjoyed your day off.

Lost a keet

looks like they all went to the cooler side last night and then instead of going back to the light when they got cold they just piled in a corner.

Sorry.

Quote: Only thing I've ever found to keep them at bay (other than bug spray, which loses effectiveness & is a pain to lug around) is tobacco smoke. Can't tolerate insects in my face,so I started smoking a pipe somewhere around '64 to keep them away. No clue what I'll have to do now that I've had to quit. I've heard that dryer strips hanging from a hat band work pretty well, haven't tried them.
I was wondering about the pipe, didn't want to ask and bother you. Figured you had enough people doing that.

Lovely!

So here is little Turtle, Tortuga, AKA Tori.

The second egg from the right, next to the one that is being used as a pillow is in full zip at the moment. Our cats finally caught on to what is going on and have been banished to the upstairs for a few days. Happy? I sure am. They aren't too tickled at the moment but then it sux being a cat sometimes, LOL.
Congratulations!

Sooo kiddos in home schooling starts tomorrow and my house is horrible, I so dont want her teacher to see this chaos. Why do things happen at the same time and ughhhhh I am so frustrated but I cant do nothing about it.

I need to afford a housekeeper for a bit
I had considered getting you one, started to look into it, but then thought you might kill me. lol

Day 10 of incubation

I started with 16 duck eggs.
8 magpie, 7 ancona, and 1 runner.

They were all marked M for magpie, or A for ancona, the runner egg had nothing.
Then they were marked A B C D E etc.

The temp. has been about varies from. 98.5 to 100.2 pretty much, the humidity stays about 35-40 %

I candled them all today. It is truly amazing how they have grown in 5 days.

All the Magpie eggs have little babies rocking back and forth. It is quite adorable to see them swinging back and forth in their egg! Not even hatched and they already love swimming.

The air cells seem the right size.

The ancona eggs C had a blood ring, and D was clear. The runner egg was clear which dosen't surprise me since neither boy cares for her. They were discarded. Pic will come later
Seems things are off to a decent start. Good luck!

(Only in the corner cause my hand was in the brooder.).

Awwwwww
