Riddle me this: hatcher with fan struggles to keep humidity even though it feels humid when I open the lid.

Hatcher with no fan, humidity skyrockets. Talking like 30% difference.

Fan messing with hygro? Or that's just how science works?

It is logical
Humidity is actually water vapors in the air, as you know. Wind is actually mass of air exchanging place. So when you have a fan its just taking all the water vapor out with the air he force to the holes in the bator.
This is exactly the reason way in a windy day your laundry will dry faster.
You need a bigger evaporation surface in a bator wit a fan, to get to the same humidity that you get without it.

The FB thing... FB is not allowing the sale of live animals because of a bunch of Vegan tree huggers. So to keep them from snooping some sites require you be a member to another major poultry exchange page or site. The site that douche runs doesn't recognize BYC as a major exchange site because we are a bunch of crazies. I yet to meet a person with more than 3 chickens that has all there marbles. I did not start raising chickens until most of mine were gone. Then I met all you fine folks.

Need to check the humidity one more time in incubator and hit the hay. The wild oregano has started to grow past seedling stage now.
