EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@kajira I don't even know how to go back and look in this new format. What have you found out about your pregnancy? I hope you are well.

I'm going for another ultrasound tomorrow morning, after follow up with doc, I should have another picture of what's going on to share. IF all's going well, I have follow up on friday to check for a heartbeat(s)

Work, farm chores, trip preparation, and helping my friend. I am seriously thinking about how I plan to change things when I get back. I agree with what you said awhile back that all my work is not living. I am sick of sixty hour plus work weeks.
I have been to Yalta, but not Malta ;)
I realy hope that you didn't have there a convention with Stalin and Churchill! :lau

@Fire Ant Farm
I've for the most part, have had a bunch of my roosters live peacefully together. 2 in my silky pen share 4-5 girls with out missing any feathers on any of the birds.
In Biter's pen, he lives with 2 more silkie roosters, because I love ging and bubbles and couldn't part with them, just because they were roosters and they are sweethearts... Biter allowed thing #2 to live with him, too, until we culled him for going after the kids. Thing #2 never fit in with anyone really, and wasn't even nice to humans. He got the boot.

The two big cochin roosters gotten eaten, because they were fine with people but trying to mate with our ducks, boys, girls, it didn't matter.

I have a couple of extra roosters flying around here, that I don't know 100% what they plan on doing, but as long as they don't attack people, i let my roosters be... but if they are assholes, we cull them, and most of the time we don't even eat them after we cull them because hubby doesn't feel they are worth the meat.

I have had success with some, not others, seems to depend on the breed/individuals. I was out there this AM (things were calm) and realized what my mistake might have been - their paddock is adjacent (with a gap) to Kirk's paddock, and the poor fellas have to watch Kirk having his way with his ladies all day long. Hence the sex-with-rocks (Mr. Orange did it right in front of me this AM - no question that's what it was). This group was always destined for the dinner table expect one for breeding if good enough - was just hoping to postpone. So I'm prepping their holding pens (aka the old indoor brooders) so I can have them there this evening and overnight. I have limited space for different paddocks, but am thinking I may do a shuffle at some point soon once I get that second tractor put up - move the remaining S&G boys to the back (fox less likely to mess with them than the tiny little Aloha girls), put the Aloha girls in the current S&G pen (closer to the house, and no boys so no problem being near Kirk and the Enterprise gang), and then stick with the plan to move the Aloha boys across the yard to the new tractor. You know what all this means though. Work work work work....

Yes indeed time flies! we have been for 5 dayes in Malta already!
Beutiful, Beutiful Beaches! Nice people and very interesting language and history!
Beside of that, relaxing, spending time with my kids (humans! ) finishing some projects, basically having fun! And you? Still working hard?

I always thought Malta would be such a nice place to visit. I hope you will share some photos with us when you can.

Just taking a meal break - about to go back to setting up those brooders as holding pens and moving those boys. Then set up everything for cull day tomorrow.

Just finished a late lunch. Not culling today. Awning, lockdown, chickens, raccoon taking the day so far.

Lmao! Roosters watching live porn what kind of place you running there anyway! Sounds like more back breaking work for ya. Ugh. You make me tired just thinking about it.

Yes. 2015--16ish?
I'll have to look for that! I spent all day reading. It was great! Took a few breaks from it to rest my eyes and do some chores and still finished my book by 4. Went to the store a little bit ago and realised the minute I walked in there I would have no problem becoming a recluse. PEOPLE AHHH. This one lady spent almost the entire time I was in there debating with her 3 or 4 year old what to get out of the quarter machine. Another chic that looked cracked out blocked and isle causing a traffic jam and never got out the way. Got stuck beside someone who smelled bad in the produce isle. Had to listen to a two faced lady I know making small talk quite loudly with someone she will no doubt talk smack about the minute her back is turned. I seriously think about ordering my groceries on Amazon.
