I certainly do not envy you.Weather report says it is 103 here but it is a balmy 99F in the shade at my house.
Forecast calls for 104 tomorrow and 105 Saturday. Humidity is way down at 45% but it is supposed to bump up to 65% by midnight when temperature will drop back to 88.
I'm in the southwest corner. Or as some put it the DEEP SOUTH lolI had a black leghorn that was my most reliable broody.
Our flock of 100 whit leghorns when I was young always had a couple hens in broody jail.
I forgot to mention that I was in the middle of a dissertation on other reasons to believe that humans are the cause of global warming when the site went down and it was lost when my computer died.
What part of Missouri are you in?
You have 3 poultry labs in PA. I would send a bird for necropsy or better yet send a live sickly bird for euthanasia and lab tests. Same price.

NPIP only certifies the flock is pullorum/typhoid clean. Many other things could be the problem.
Thanks for the song.
I needed to get another earworm out of my head.
While watching the video I was thinking those screaming fans are fat grey haired ladies in their 70s if they're still alive.
Not bikers.
My underwear is white, or mostly so.
Depends on one's climate.
Deep, DEEEP south. Anything lower than WI is regular south; MO and below that is deep south.I'm in the southwest corner. Or as some put it the DEEP SOUTH lol
Sad! So sorry.I had a disturbing loss last night.
It was pool night for me and my wife locks up on those nights. However it is also her day off and she went floating with friends on the Black River yesterday but was home well before dark.
I always recheck her work but last night I didn't. She only closed 2 buildings.
I took the dog out to pee at about 3 AM and there was a hen sitting on the front step. When the dog went out she ran off and I figured she would find a place to roost in the shrubs.
This morning I found her carcass run over on the road in front of the house. At least it was probably a quick death.
I think there is another hen missing too.
I think I know what happened and I'm the only one to blame, SMH.
Yesterday, all poults were fine and well, no problems. Then in the evening, I saw one that kept falling over, just couldn't keep its balance, like his leg was weak. I knew from dealing with ducklings that this is what happens with a niacin deficiency so I added some niacin to the water. Later on, I realized that that poult that was having trouble had a piece of hair wrapped around his toes and that was why he couldn't balance. I got it off and let him go but was rising around doing things. I totally forgot to change out the niacin water. Today, 3 poults are dead. I changed the water out first thing this morning but didn't really connect it. I'm pretty sure I overdosed them on niacin that they didn't need. This is a mistake that I never should've made and those poults should not be dead![]()

I just got a shipment of predatory nematodes for small hive beetles and Japanese beetles. They are supposed to be applied when it isn't sunny and preferably during a rain shower. I guess I'll be watering the ground and waiting till after dark.
My coop fairy that almost died from a pulmonary embolism is back in the hospital in extreme pain. Supposedly blood clots in her other leg where her hip was broken.
Ya wouldn't wanna break a tooth!
So I think that you need to kill the last 40 to get read of them completely!Just as a side note, I caught and killed 7 raccoons recently and that doesn't include the 3 that were road kill near my house.
Yes, in the big incubator. Called the world! Please tell me that thermometer is in an incubator.
