EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I had no problem getting the two roosters into the proper pen so I could open the main door for catching more. Almost immediately, the remaining flock came towards me because the food is inside. I stood outside, and contemplated waiting until both hens were in before shutting the door on them. However, I wasn't sure that the second one was going to go in until the first one came out. I used a net to shoo the first one, and she moved just right to get into the net. I just got the latch on the back pen open, and she escaped. :th Why didn't I shut the main door just in case?!
It sounds like you need one of those Nets like whites and chicken canoe have.

Great! My turn is coming in just under two weeks.
I am doing the battle of the bulge (running/jogging) three miles a day with intervals of intensity as I condition.
How was your hike?

We didn't really hike. Everything was pretty much drive to. We drove to the observatory for Mount St Helens though we did hike to the top of the hill for a good pic lol. Down at the redwoods, we drove through a scenic route to see them though we stopped often to get out and take pictures. We walked a few blocks down the beach, but it was cold there and we walked around the rim of a volcanic vent which was really rather neat. It would've been cool to hike one of the many talks out there but we just didn't have time.

I how you win your battle! I can't run :/ I used to try to but I hurt my knee trying. I'm always battling my bulge and can't seem to win but I'll keep trying. Eventually, hopefully I'll get there!

I get it off regularly, I just fail at keeping it off. If I stop running (you can substitute power walking) I gain weight so as much as I dislike it I engage in the battle of the bulge my unfond term for running.
I am doing it for the cardio too facing the hike and elevation issue. I enjoy my Kenpo and that type of exercise, but I abhor running. It is effective though. I have lost all the weight I gained when I hurt my ankle with calorie counting, then some more running so even with my pack I am lighter than I was.
Five pounds to go.

Well, I posted on the Idaho thread looking for some fresh unwashed unrefrigerated eggs to take, but I think I will just have a weird carry on item :D

That's great that you can get it off :) I used to be able to but since my hysterectomy, it seems like every time I try, I drop a few pounds then end up heavier than I was to start. I dig manage to get about 15 lbs off before this trip but with all the out to eat and my brother's wedding celebration, I've put about half back on :/ I started calorie counting a few months ago and it seems to work though very slowly. I also do 21 day fix, as much as I'm capable and walk (treadmill or the 2 1/2 mile loop by our house). I realize it's going to be an ongoing battle.

You can get that last 5 lbs!

@Auroradream26 If you start at 1200 and drop as you hit walls to 1000 calories a day it comes off steadily until the last 10-20. Then I start running/extra exercise.
I have what I want or have been craving on Saturday for dinner. It is this cheat day that keeps me sane the rest of the week, and on Sunday I usually have 1500 calories. It often means my first dropped pound of the week is one I regained, but I find it worth the cost in how it keeps me from cheating the rest of the week or quitting.
