You do realize that it's a HUGE commodity in your country and that it's put in
e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. We couldn't believe our eyes when we first shopped stateside...lol.

I think wheat is probably the main for scratch. I would hope so. For cattle oats and barley for us....I mean that's what we feed. No prepared cattle feed here...lol.

My sheep were oats/barley/wheat/peas not necessarily in that order.
DH LOVED that...lol :lau NOT!

I was going to start playing around with FF. I have the pvc feeder made up already. Just need to make it up the mix. I was going to use 2 buckets and put the 3-4 grains we use,(no corn) and fill it up with water and add some of the stuff my wife got for sourdough that says contains mothers.
How much mothers stuff would you add?

Good question, I've never used it.

(Psst... Run. You're on Ralphie's hit list now.)

I have one flock of mine.... who was started on FF on day one.
I have kept track of pretty much everything for this flock since day one..including daily egg numbers.
Come January...I will be publishing my own report. (January because that is the month they first started to lay.)

I now feed everyone only FF.

People write reports on living with ghosts, Why Zombie's are friends of ours and so forth......

See I read that over a few days the water and grain will make it own good stuff? But then I read were people used the mothers additive and it speed up the process. Oh heck I need to go back and read up some more.

:hu I just dumped some water on feed and waited until everyone started complaining about the smell. It'd be interesting to see what you find.
