EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

LOL had I KNOWN you were at least checking and reading I could have entertained you quietly for a while. HOWEVER I went to the butcher shop for my 15 lbs of beef fat for rendering for soap AND

dun dun dun
while I paid the amish lady my $5. the younger sons put the boxes in my Journey, when I got in the car I couldn't believe how much fat they put in my car!!! I could barely carry the boxes up my steps from downstairs! I put them on the scale 77 lbs of beef fat!! I called mom and thank GOD she came and helped me clean it and cut it all up, I rendered half of it took most of the afternoon and eve. Anyways took mom and I FOUR HOURS to cut it all up, the other half is in my fridge waiting until I have help. I sorta burnt myself trying to strain and pour into the pan molds to cool. I think I am a bit old and weak to mess with hot oil unless I have someone here to help. Sooooo the rest sits in the fridge and pray it don't break the glass shelf on top of the drawer. Did you read Husband got a doe early this am. no more contact with him so IDK if he got anything else or not.

The meat is mighty welcome right now as cash it tight!
If you haven't already, spread out the weight of that fat over the whole surface of the glass; might keep it from breaking.
I could use a couple good deer myself. We have none in the freezer; lost a bunch of meat this summer when the power went out while we were in WI.

We got all the bird block up in the big house. now all the hens are perched neatly in 4 solid rows. Was never able to do livestock inventory in there before. When the sun went down and all the ladies were uniform lined up. OOOOOMMMMMGGGGG.. I have a bum load of birds in there. Now I can count by number and calculate with the color leg bands etc... I have way too many chickens. I am not reporting the head count. No wonder my pockets are always empty.

I was just curious. I didn't notice them earlier and they're practically glowing now lol
Exactly, the color reminds me Popeye the sailor spinach!
