If you haven't already, spread out the weight of that fat over the whole surface of the glass; might keep it from breaking.LOL had I KNOWN you were at least checking and reading I could have entertained you quietly for a while. HOWEVER I went to the butcher shop for my 15 lbs of beef fat for rendering for soap AND
dun dun dun
while I paid the amish lady my $5. the younger sons put the boxes in my Journey, when I got in the car I couldn't believe how much fat they put in my car!!! I could barely carry the boxes up my steps from downstairs! I put them on the scale 77 lbs of beef fat!! I called mom and thank GOD she came and helped me clean it and cut it all up, I rendered half of it took most of the afternoon and eve. Anyways took mom and I FOUR HOURS to cut it all up, the other half is in my fridge waiting until I have help. I sorta burnt myself trying to strain and pour into the pan molds to cool. I think I am a bit old and weak to mess with hot oil unless I have someone here to help. Sooooo the rest sits in the fridge and pray it don't break the glass shelf on top of the drawer. Did you read Husband got a doe early this am. no more contact with him so IDK if he got anything else or not.
The meat is mighty welcome right now as cash it tight!
I could use a couple good deer myself. We have none in the freezer; lost a bunch of meat this summer when the power went out while we were in WI.
