EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

They got most of the electrical taken care of yesterday. I have 2 houses on my lot, but the other house has too much interference from some trees, so both systems are going on the main house. We had to dig a trench over to the other house and under a walkway and put in conduit for them to run the wiring. We weren't scheduled until next week - thought we'd take care of the rest of the conduit work this weekend. But the solar company called on Wed, and bumped us up to yesterday - they had a delay on another project. So, they ended up finishing the conduit placement for us. We decided to get the battery backups, so those were installed in both houses. Panels should start to go up today I think.

I hope that you don't get too much rain! Did they plan on lowering the lake during the storm in order to work on the ramp? Or, was it just bad timing?

@Christinecam I'm sorry she died!
Thanks hun!:hugs

Hi Daxigait!!! Nothing too exciting! I did get a chance to drive cross country this summer and FINALLY stay in the house I've owned since 2005 - I had never even seen it before that.

How have you been? I love reading all your goat updates! I've learned a lot from them!
I have been busy as usual, and it is breeding season for the goats. All the fall preparations like everyone else, and studying for my insurance adjuster license.
Why haven't you seen the house? Is it rented out?

They are cute, even the rejects. I am glad you are too far away for me to get soft hearted. :lau

I found a doe with bloodlines from a place that was famous for udders with a top side that compliments my bucks lines. It turns out she was sold from a big show farm for $1,000 bred, and then resold a year later to the lady I got her from as a pair with another doe for $425.
The other find may prove to be a huge leap forward for me as she is line bred from a doe that took fourth as a first freshener at Nationals in 2014. She is also the granddaughter of my bucks sire who's dam just took first at Nationals. She was second in 2015 and 2016. So by breeding her to my buck she will be line bred to the famous does line and line bred to my bucks line and I am looking forward to that result.
Besides the fact that she's just flat-out stunning as a nine month old.
