If it is styro, the room temp comes into play here. I don't climate control my hatch room. As a matter of fact, my multi brooder tub lights keep the room temp close to the bate temp. I use aux meters and am a firm believer that all factory meters LIE. I use multi sources aux wise as well as hung on the wall for room temp. I rant and complain if somebody doesn't shut the door to the room. Now that the season has changed, the drafts are even more of a concern. How long should it take? I get flustered after an hour and it's getting too high. I usually tinker with it till I get it back to normal.![]()

Also so when I hand turn, it's not a 180 turn, I mimic a hen with a semi rough but effective yoke exercise turn. Personally I don't feel the need to exactly turn an egg in a 180* turn at once motion is needed if a lazy broody hen doesn't follow that particular guide line.. Anyway... live and learn... some times I live more than I learn, other times I learn more that I live..
Go figure..
