EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Lately I’ve seen a lot of geese co-brooding. A mom will be in one area with 4-1,000,000 goslings, and then another gaggle will be a few yards away. I think I saw four families at one point. Then they start walking with Momma, babies, mother, babies... It’s quite cute. But only because it’s not on my property.
Driving between jobs last week. Semi in front of me slows way down and starts to pull over into the suicide lane odd in that there’s no business to unload for at that particular spot. Canadian geese were walking their crew across the road.

Ignoring the "Goose Crossing" sign again, are they? You'll have to speak to your local officials so they can bring it to referendum.

That reminds me of the time the turkey was in the center of an intersection and nobody would drive. Light changed several times. When it was finally my turn to go I just drove at the thing and it moved which is what they will usually do. When I checked the mirror it was back in the center of road stopping people again. :lau

I wouldn't administer equine formulation.
You have two options.

  1. You will need 20 gauge needles. One for each pig. We don't stick used needles back in the bottle. 1 cc per 100 lbs body weight. Fold the ear forward and inject behind the ear in the soft tissue. Since these are meat pigs, I would NOT inject into meat or muscle for residual reasons.
  2. Oral administration. Take a bread slice or two and ball them up tight into a wad. Inject the 1 cc per 100 lbs of ivernmec into the center of the bread ball. MAKE SURE THEY ARE FED SEPARATELY. It tastes bad. Another pig might grab a spit out bread wad. When we do oral treatments, we give them 2 or 3 bread balls w/o meds first to trick them into thinking it's a treat. They suck down the first few balls, then the med ball goes down faster.

I don't think honk I could catch them to do injections

I think I have to do oral administration, they eat like pigs so it shouldn't be too bad (this is also why I was thinking the horse kind because it's apple flavored)

Is it possible those mixes? I think they are all from the same litter
I'm keeping busy-ish and trying to focus on being a mom AND taking care of myself.
