EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Thanks!! Leave the membrane intact though correct?
The membrane is probably dried out after all that time. You will have to at least moisten it. I’ve never left the membrane intact when assisting since that is what is keeping the chick from hatching to begin with.

Depends on the chick. If it’s kicking to get out help it. When I did help they usually would finish the job and plop out into my hand. I did have those that didn’t make it.
One last question. Do I put her a a moist towel or what. Seems like she would stick to the bottom of the bator.

Did it make it out ok? What’s the bottom of bator made of? I would just keep it warm without paper towels. They usually don’t stick.
it's like small welded wire, plastic coated. I was able to remove half the shell. looks like it might not have absorbed all the yolk sac. Have to go feed the ponies and I will check again when I get back and try to get it off the rest of the way.

Yeah I’d wait if you see yolk. Better to let it absorb more in the shell. I seldom had them survive with the yolk.
