I like the Blue Copper. Are they pretty good sized. Lay well?

Yes they lay pretty decent. Size wise they are a little bigger bird but not as big as my heritage Orps. I like the blues too and they are my favorite out of the 2 as well.

Tried to open the barn door a little bit for the goats and chickens to get outside, it's frozen in place. I'll open the front door for them when it warms up a bit more.

How much do your orps weigh? Buffs?

I have no idea as I’ve never put them on the scale. My blue and black orp roosters are monsters. The heritages are probably at 40% bigger than hatchery stock if I had to guess.

Just came in from moving chicks around in the brooders and cleared a bunch out of the hatchers. I don’t usually do chicks like that but I was out there and there was a pile fluffed up so I went ahead and knocked it out.

I plan to build a few brooder boxes..... right now my main brooder is full and it's way too cold to pitch those 4 week old babies outside......even with a heater..... now I just have to convince the hubby. He is currently under the impression that tubs are fine.... for now.
