I try to never purchase shipped eggs farther from an adjoining state. and always fresh fresh eggs and requested shipped as you tried. I have hatched many dirty eggs. I think your air cells were rolling, when you suggested you cant see them I had thought that immediately. nothing you can do about them, if they are truly rollers from end to end rolling, I have yet to see one hatch. many can hatch from loose, but detached nah but I always toss them. I dont want to have to baby chicks, I want the strongest chicks I can get from an egg. Sometimes I swear for the real bad ones, it may be better to just let them go a week before turning just a tad, and keep them upright once started upright, only laying at lockdown. My joy at hatching all of my viable eggs is dampened slightly by my candle of the other dozen I had going--you know, the filthy ones that got bounced around the county by the postal service.
8 blood rings, 3 clears, and 1 lonely embryo.
I think it was a combination of factors--the shipping (despite being done as recommended by Sally Sunshine), the fecal contamination, and I put them in a cheap incubator and kept fiddling with the heat because it wasn't maintaining temps.
What do I do with a lone baby, if it makes it? Will it adapt alright having siblings that are two weeks older? We have no fall chick days here, so I can't just pick up a buddy for it.
I suppose there is no point worrying about it now--I don't know if it will even hatch.
No more Ebay eggs for me!

Logic shall prevail, because I want to either get more local eggs, or order from the place I got my first eggs from (all the eggs that didn't hatch were my fault). And I don't want to fuss with babies in frigid temps. So I'll wait. I mean it, I'll wait!
No, you won’t!
