EE Chickens 24 weeks Old no eggs.

My EE is 26 weeks old and has not started laying yet. Lots of squats and checking out the nest boxes, so I am hoping it will be soon now. I also have a light brahma and a buff orpington who are 26 weeks old as well and have not started laying yet. My other buff orpington started at 24 weeks and has laid 11 eggs over the past 13 days. It will be extra exciting when they are all laying. I have faith it will be before Christmas.....I am planning on eggs benedict for christmas brunch

We have the same situation here! I thought Ruffles, a giant black and white EE who is 8 months old!, was laying this petite little cream colored egg. But just this week we got a HUGE olive green egg with white speckles. We have 4 ee, the first to lay was early like at 19 weeks and she lays a light brown egg. The next two lay minty blue/green eggs and this last one lays a giant olive one. Her first egg weighed in at Extra large on the scale!

I had one just start to lay and she was probably over 30 weeks (hatched in March)...

Do you think we may have to wait until spring? With the shorter days maybe they won't lay this winter.?

I have 4 EEs. Only one of four is laying a pretty light tan egg. They were born the third week of May and she started the first week of December! 3 more to go! It will happen! It is freezing here and my one who is laying lays once a day or every other day. I must say the one who is laying looks more mature than the other three. Two are looking closer but no squating.

My EEggers waiting until they were 31 and 34 weeks old before they laid their first egg.. well worth the wait but it was a longggggg wait...

Mine are about the same age and no eggs yet either.
