Hi all,
We bought a couple of EE pullets today to add to our small flock. It's our first experience with this variety, and I was wondering if one of them doesn't show signs of being a roo? They are around 14-15 weeks old, hatched Oct 26. I don't know how apparent saddle feathers would be at this age. The guy we bought them from offers a guarantee that they are pullets, but I don't want to wait too long to exchange if we need to. Thanks in advance for your help.

The one on top is suspect to me...I notice that usually my pullets don't have any red on their faces until they get older, and I notice that the top pic has a reddish colored comb already, and also the neck feathers look like they are laying over the shoulder feathers, much like a cockerel or rooster...but the second pic is definitely a girl. the first one could be too, but in my terribly limited experience I would watch that first one as to me it looks like it does have hackles and a comb.

Thanks, all. We had strong suspicions that the first chick is a boy, too. Now to get my seller to see that.

Just show them both of them together like in the pics and you can see the differences.
