EE that lays white eggs?!?!?!? Pic Heavy!

She would have to be a leghorn if she were a red, she would not have white ear lobes. Gorgeous rooster and babies though

Her egg is the lightest one in this group. Its almost a really really pale pink, not quite white. This chicken is prolly just a good ole mutt. She lays a fairly large egg for her size too.

It appears to be a red leghorn, like the chickens in the picture above.

Well that solved my question. It hit me all of a sudden when I was looking at her today "Brown Leghorn" The single comb, small body, white lobes. But she did come with the others. 2 of the others had pea combs and beards, but the white and black spotted looking roo had no beard and a single comb. I have no idea what he was then, he is not alive anymore either. None of those roos are. I'm getting some brown leghorn from a hatchery this March so when they grow up Ill be able to compare. So that's what she is or a cross. Her eggs are not pearly white, but more of a really pale pink/ off white. Oh well, she's a pretty kool chicken, whatever she is. Thanks everybody.

Sometimes other breed chicks get put in the wrong bins it happens here alot at TSC....... so this maybe what happened or she is a ee mix ee covered by maybe a RIR roo, and she has throwback genetics to the odd parent....kim

I know that happens alot, but I got these chicks from a local feed store that only orders 1 breed at a time. When they sell out they buy another small shipment of one breed. One year I bought black australorps from them and that was the only breed they had at that time. I think if anything, this was a hatchery mistake. Either way she lays a nice big egg. I think if she isn't pure, she definitely has some red or brown leghorn in her. Or what you said below about the EE mixed with an RIR.

Okay, I got this chick at a local feed store last March. They sold her to me as an Ameraucana but I later found out techinically she would be an EE. Well here's the thing. She's been laying an off white colored egg and today for the first time I noticed she has white ear lobes. Is she really an EE?
Here is a picture of her now. She is really small too.

Here is a picture of her and the chicks I got with her. The other 3 ended up being roos.

Here is all 4 of them a little older:

Im confused. All four of those babies look like they have muffs, and the juvies are not coming in red...which juvie is her? And the golden colored juvie in the center, I thought that was a female color for EEs? How old were they in that shot?

Anyway, she is pretty.

The feed store may have ordered all EEs but that doesn't mean the box was packed with all EEs. Mistakes happen. Most hatchery EEs vaguely resemble Ameraucanas -- beards, green legs, pea combs are typical features. Since your reddish hen with the white lobes has none of those traits at all, I seriously doubt she came from the EE pen.

I'm guessing Leghorn also. I don't think her color is pure red or pure brown -- possibly mixed colors.

ETA: some of my EEs have red lobes, some have white. It has no bearing on egg color at all. And you really have to look for the lobes because of the cheek puff.
