Egg 911 - cracked with baby inside

Get a good incubator. Good broodies can be rare but incubators are there for incubating or for emergencies.

You can incubate the eggs and then give the broody the hatchlings

not sure my reply posted. Sorry if it does it twice. Any suggestions on brand for incubators or what to look for in one?

This what I'm dealing with right now. This morning I checked back on my cracked egg and it was cracked more. I candled it once again and the little chick was still moving around. I could see the beak moving as though it was trying to pip right where the crack was. I've decided just to leave it alone and check back in the morning. I'm pretty munch accepting that it will be a total loss at this point with the small bit of blood. Any thoughts?

Just lost the last good egg today so I tossed the rest of the eggs in her nest so she wasn't sitting on them for nothing. Hopefully we have better luck next time. I plan on getting an incubator so I have it before we go for another go at it. Jbently28 hopefully you have better luck than I did!

My little chick didnt make it. It started having more blood ooze out andthere was a hole through the membrane. I decided to open it and put the poor chick out of its misery. Inside was a perfectly formed little chick that looked like it was on day 17. I tossed a few eggs this morning as well. I had one that I was almost certain was developing a blood ring when I candled it the other day. The Turkey had pushed it out of the brooder box this morning and sure enough I checked it and it was a for sure blood ring. I still have about 7 that are still doing well. After this I'm not letting them sit anymore. I'll definitely be purchasing a good incubator as well for future hatching. I'm just hoping some of my other eggs can make it this round.
