Egg bound 6mo Bantam Cochin

Well, when I let the chicks out this morning and I checked on my little hen, she had passed. Super bummed out, she was my favourite little girl. I did all I knew to do, but now I know for the future if this happens. At least her last night was a delightful spa evening, so I’m happy with that
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your beautiful little hen. As a newbie too I had no advice to offer, but I was rooting for you both. Lovely that you gave her a nicer life and more care than most chickens will ever know. :hugs

sorry for your loss. I'm researching 'bound egg' now, since I lost one of my new girls last night and I fear her sibling might have a similar problem. She was sitting on the nest to lay today, but nothing came out yet. I'm going to do the typical warm bath, feel up the vent and see if there is anything stuck. They have been laying now for about 2 weeks, an egg every other day.

I am so very sorry for your loss. She was just beautiful. I’m glad her last evening was an enjoyable spa night. Where in Northern California are you? I’m in the Bay Area and have been to three avian vets, in case you need one. That’s a bonus about living here. However, I don’t think super freshly milled feed is available around here?
