Egg Bound or Something Else

You're so welcome. Antibiotics are very controversial on chickens. The FDA recently made most antibiotics available only by prescription, and Baytril though used for other farm animals and chickens around the world, is banned in chickens in the US. Most vets realize that some chickens are pets, and that we are usually not going to eat them if we name them and bring them into a vet in the first place. Anyway, many use Baytril for treating early egg yolk peritonitis because it may give the chickens a better quality of life, and help to extend their lives in some cases. Let us know how she gets along.

Oh no. I am so sorry that you have lost her so quickly. She must have been very ill. It's good that you took her to the vet to know that she was sick with some type of infection. She must have been very special to you. Take care.
