I have a 1 year old hen who I just found with a prolapsed vent. She was straining every minute or so and passing a small amount of yellow diarrhea. I picked her up and felt her abdomen, felt a hard mass which feels like an egg. She's in the bath now. I snapped a picture just before I felt her belly.
There is another chicken, a young pullet, who I saw with yellow diarrhea as well. Ruffled feathers and panting, resting in one spot. I thought for a moment the diarrhea was related to the eggbound issue but this other chicken is not yet old enough to lay. I didn't see any other chickens acting off, but I didnt stay long when I felt the egg in my girls belly.
What could I be dealing with here? I don't know of any poultry vets in my area. I live far from town so I can't purchase any meds or supplies until tomorrow.
Please help!!
