Ok, I have a pullet that was egg bound, I got the "soft" egg out but now I am concerned about the stuff hangin not from her vent. It is bleeding a little bit but I think it stopped. I have put Prep H on it and it has shrunk a little bit. I thought that a prolapse came from the vent. Am I wrong? This stuff hanging is from beside. Any indeas on what I should do or what this is?

Hello and welcome to BYC

Can you possibly post a pic of it in the Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures section? I wish I could help, but that's something I haven't dealt with yet. Good luck!

welcome!

umm... i don't know what to do, i would agree with sumi. i have heard that you are supposed to give an egg-bound chicken a warm bath, but i'm not sure... i would separate her from the other chickens if i were you. you don't want the other chickens pecking at it

( if you have other chickens...)

Hmm, its not from the vent? you should wash it with warm water, and if its DEFINATLEY NOT FROM THE VENT, keep her isolated (the others birds will make this much worse) and see if it improves. A pic would be useful, but this isn't the place for it. I'd go to chicken emergencies, and post there. I'll watch for you.
