Chickens do not pee!

Well it's not really pee, very thin diarrhea.

I started her on antibiotics yesterday. Is this a good idea? I've kept her isolated all week because the other chickens attack her.

I'm beginning to think something else must be wrong. Still no egg but she seems swollen and has very runny stinky pee. No poop. She seems to be eating and drinking ok. I don't know what else to do for her.

Did you do a cloacal exam? She may have peritonitis. Have you looked at information for vent gleet? The runny pee,is actually poop.

I've tried to feel for an egg. I didn't feel anything. I'm a beginner chicken mom. I'll research peritonitis. I'm not sure what that is. She can't seem to walk very well.

I just looked up vent gleet. This is totally what is going on with her. Thank you ten chicks!!! She is hunched, sleeps a lot (eyes closed), tucks her head under her wing constantly, extreme foul smelling poo and discharge.

Also look up ascites.

Duramycin-10. Maybe I should not give her that. Sounds like it might create more of a problem. I'll give her a Epsom salt bath.
