Yes I understand. She does feel a bit more swollen towards her rump than my other girls do. Yes I understand it’s a serious issue that’s why I’m trying to consult the chicken pages. I’ve read I’m looking for Baytril or amoxicillin but I don’t think my farm store has that. It doesn’t look like it’s available on Amazon. I’ll call my vet but they don’t treat poultry.

Vets always seem to be quite negative about the prognosis for sick chickens (probably because they do die a lot more often than say dogs and cats) but chickens can pull through some pretty tough spots. If it was just a random broken egg and you can keep infection from setting in, I think she has a decent chance of recovery. If she has some reproductive issue causing broken eggs, internal laying, etc then the odds are really stacked against her. Anyway, hoping for the best
I caught it really early before she was showing serious signs of ill was. She perked up after the vet gave her some anti biotics. I’m not sure they can work that fast but I was happy to see her eating and drinking when she wasn’t this morning. Her tail was up she looked very alert and really fought me trying to get the second daily dose of anti biotics. I know it’s still a slim chance but I have some hope. I don’t think it’s a reproductive issue but it could be. Her eggs were getting thinner and I should’ve acted sooner. If nothing else I know more for next time. Not quite ready to give up on chickens all together.
Did the vet say anything about giving calcium supplements for a few days? It might help get her laying normally again and I don't think it could hurt..
No but I bought calcium citrate thanks to my readings here. I tried to get her to take half a pill but I couldn’t get it in her mouth. Like I said she was feeling quite lively this evening. Instead I crushed up the whole pill and put it in her mash.
