Egg Cartons

For all of you who have people return egg cartons, please answer this for me. Do you ever get DIRTY egg cartons back? I have a few customers who seem to return dirty/filthy egg cartons? REALLY? SERIOUSLY? How can you get an egg carton dirty, filthy, grity, etc? I don't understand. :idunno Are you using the egg carton to pick up dirt after you sweep. :smack What good is a dirty egg carton? Because I WILL NOT wash an egg carton. In the trash it goes. :he

I just have people bring me cartons. Or they get them in wal-mart plastic bags. Simple as that.I'm not paying .50 a carton at TSC for 1 darn carton.

Sometimes get a dirty one mostly it looks like the threw the empty shell in the box. The dirty or damaged ones go right to the kindling pile for starting or re-stoking the wood stove(fiber ones not foam). They work great getting the fire going. Don't get a lot of foam or plastic ones in these parts, when I do try to give them to people that will never return them. Not a big fan of either.

If that where the case where I live if they never had "my" carton and brought one of their store bought ones I'd have a wicker or plastic basket nailed to a porch or sidewalk rail and put a dozen eggs there for them and charge them 50 cents less. If I turn my back and leave and they put the eggs they got from me into someone else's carton how am I to know???

I got a pretty good return rate. Not sure what you are saying, here in Mass you cannot legally reuse and sell your eggs in a store box. Not to say it doesn't happen. Sure someone could come and put eggs in a box from the store but you didn't sell it to them. Not your problem. I just want the customer back basically but it is to the point where I have more demand than eggs. Let chicken math kick in a little but it was still not enough. More chicken math in the spring.I even tried to buy some from a friend but he has the same problem demand exceeds supply.

Duckinnut, if ur demand exceeds ur supply , then what do u charge? Have u considered raising ur price 50cents?? Also how many hens u got?? And are ur eggs paying off ur food costs??
