Egg cells slant good but no signs of movement

Put it on it's side. This happened to me once last year and once this year, both made it, but both needed assistance to get out. Just make sure the pipped spot is clear so the chick can get air.

Ok, I'll do that now. I candled at 3am and no internal pip/external pip. So it must have been in the last 3-4 hours. You'll have to let me know how long to wait before giving any assistance. Thank you!

Both times when it happened here there was a tiny bit if blood around the pip, this was because the chick actually broke through the membrane and the shell at the same time. I did a little peeling over the air space so I could check for blood vessels in the membrane. Once they had pretty much disappeared is when I started to peel the chick out.

No blood. Did you see the pic above? The membrane is a little yellow should I moisten it with bacitracin? My humidity is 70%.

I don't see any picture? Inner or outer membrane? If outer you can carefully remove it. The inner will have the blood vessels in it. I always wrap the egg very loosely with a moistened paper towel, and use water to moisten inner membrane if needed.

I'm sorry, looks like the picture didnt upload. I guess it's the outer membrane? I don't see the inner membrane. But I see the chicks feathers.

Okay, that is the outer membrane, usually white and opaque, will turn yellow around the pip. The inner membrane is transparent when moist, as it dries it too becomes opaque. That's why we wet it down with water so we can see the blood vessels in it. If this one just pipped this morning I would give it 24 hours before trying to peel. Just keep an eye on it sometimes they can start to turn themselves inside the shell and when they turn past the pip they can suffocate because they are not in the air cell.

How will I know if it is suffocating??

Thanks DylansMom for ur help..glad someone else has checked in on this thread to help!! Thank you!

I know, right! I'm so greatful, you have no idea!!

Usually it does not happen, just check on it often, is it chirping? If so, as long as you hear him chirping you know he can breathe.

I didn't hear chirping but when I shined the light into the air cell I could see him moving. Is it ok to open the incubator to check for chirping? I have chicken chicks in my living room, so I hear chirping all the time so it's not quit enough in my house to hear chirping through the incubator.
