Egg collecting/handling

I gather my eggs in the morning when I feed them.If I'm out and about I check on them.I do not wash them when I bring them in.If there is a mess on them I wipe it off.I have 3 nest boxes for 8 hens.I use pine shavings and I find this does great on cleanliness,protection,and comfort.When I bring them in I do refrigerate them.As I hear that so many chicken lovers don't I may stop that.Believe me it ain't as hard as you think and It is enjoyable.I love them and they are great to watch.A word in advance.When they start laying the eggs are small,so don't be suprised.It takes a few weeks to get it right.Good Luck
