I am wondering about my chicken's egg shell color. Last year I had Golden Comet hens and they laid very nice brown eggs. I ended up selling them once I became pregnant and since having my son I've been looking into getting more hens. My step son brought home a Golden Comet hen and a Black Wyandotte Bantam rooster yesterday and the gentleman he got them from said both the hen and rooster were a year old. I went out to check the nesting box this morning and I found my first egg from the hen but the egg color was a very light brown which puzzled me. So I thought I'd ask my fellow chicken owners opinions on it. I've attached pictures of last years hens eggs, the hen I have now and the egg I got today.
